The strength of concrete shuttering plywood depends directly on the core arrangement. Shandong Quality Wood utilizes premium Poplar and Eucalyptus logs, harvested from sustainably managed forests. Eucalyptus veneers provide superior mechanical properties, high tensile strength, and exceptional hardness, while Poplar veneers contribute lightness, adaptability, and high resin affinity.

Using a cross-lamination matrix, each veneer layer is oriented perpendicular to the adjacent layer. Plastic-Coated Innovations: The Rise of PP/PET Overlays

Standard phenolic paper film faced plywood is highly effective, but mechanical wear from concrete friction limits its reuse. To address this, Shandong Quality Wood has developed a high-tech polypropylene (PP) plastic composite face material. This PP plastic overlay bonds to the plywood core via hot-melt extrusion, replacing traditional phenolic paper. This composite design offers several key advantages:

• Bending Strength (MoE/MoR): Ensure the panel meets the structural limits defined in AS/NZS 6669 or EN 310. Standard Eucalyptus-Poplar combi cores should achieve a Modulus of Elasticity of at least 5000 N/mm² along the main grain axis.
• Weight-to-Strength Balance: Poplar cores reduce shipping and handling weight, while Eucalyptus cores provide higher density and screw-holding power. Combi cores strike a balance between the two.
• Edge Protection: Formwork panels are vulnerable to moisture at their cut edges. Cut edges must be resealed with water-resistant acrylic paint to prevent core swelling and delamination.
